Job Description

The Assistant Manager will manage and execute the end-to-end administration of the Undergraduate Programmes in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS), NUS.

 

Academic Operations

  • Manage the end-to-end process of course management, including timetable scheduling, classroom allocation, and course registration
  • Manage the end-to-end process for assessments, including exam scheduling, logistics, invigilation coordination, processing and verification of grades
  • Provide administrative support for curriculum updates
  • Handle Student Exchange Programme (SEP), Honours Thesis, Independent Study Course, Internship Programme and the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP) matters
  • Oversee the nomination and selection process for Scholarships, Medals and Prizes

 

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student enquiries and appeals
  • Manage the undergraduate student database
  • Liaise and coordinate with faculty for programme delivery
  • Facilitate the department’s undergraduate digital presence, such as department website and social media

 

Others

  • Support the rollout of new undergraduate initiatives
  • Assist with minutes writing
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned

Qualifications

 

  • At least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized University
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in higher education, academic administration, or related fields
  • Organised and meticulous with an eye for details
  • Ability to engage and support diverse faculty and student groups
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • Familiarity with website management and social media platforms
