The candidate will work closely with the Executive Director, Director (Strategy, Partnerships, and Technology Translation) and Manager (Admin Lead) and provide oversight and leadership for partnership development, outreach activities, communications, and technology translation initiatives at Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore. 


The candidate will be the key go-to person for industry engagement and partnerships, functioning as a liaison between programme office, partner institutions, and industry partners.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the areas below:

•    Support the Director (Strategy, Partnerships & Technology Translation) in the following strategic functions related to partnerships and engagements:
i.    Conceptualise good engagement and outreach strategies to promote programme office as a strong magnet for industry partnerships, engagements, and collaborations with the ability to communicate effectively.
ii.    Proactively pursue and establish strong strategic partnerships with several targeted key industry players, as well as related government agencies with the aim to grow an ecosystem, increase industry contributions and enhance translational research capabilities.
•    Curate and analyse data with accuracy and administer and maintain good industry engagements across multiple domains within programme office.
•    Pre-Programme and Post-Programme Preparations

The candidate will cover the following roles:

a) Partnership Engagement and Operations
•    Develop and manage partnership strategies with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), research institutes, industry partners, and other stakeholders in alignment with CFI’s objectives, in discussion with Executive Director and Director (Strategy, Partnerships, and Technology Translation).
•    Serve as an external-facing representative of CFI for partnership engagements, discussions, and collaboration initiatives.
•    Lead and oversee partner engagement activities such as dialogue sessions, meetings, and hosted visits to build relationships and identify collaboration opportunities.
•    Provide oversight of administrative processes and documentation for Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and Research Collaboration Agreements (RCAs), working with relevant NUS entities.
•    Guide and review partnership communications, follow-ups, and engagement plans to ensure effective relationship management.
•    Review feedback from industry partners and drive improvements to partnership management and engagement processes.


b) Outreach Events and Communications
•    Lead the planning and organisation of major CFI outreach events such as CFI Annual Symposium.
•    Provide direction and oversight for CFI’s communications and publicity efforts.
•    Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on media features, publications, presentations, and outreach materials to promote CFI’s research and achievements.
•    Oversee the development of case studies, success stories, and communication materials that showcase CFI’s impact and thought leadership.
•    Help design or refine business development strategies, including marketing, business development and application development templates, etc.


c) Technology Translation and IP Oversight
•    Support the development and implementation of technology translation and IP strategies in collaboration with CFI leadership and researchers.
•    Provide oversight of technology translation activities, including IP identification, patenting, licensing, and commercialisation processes.
•    Guide researchers on technology translation processes and coordinate with relevant stakeholders on agreement preparation and IP management.
•    Identify opportunities to strengthen technology translation outcomes and industry uptake of CFI’s research.

Job Requirements


•    Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
•    At least 3-5 years of related relevant experience
•    Demonstrated multi-stakeholder project management experience. 
•    Ability to handle complex, ambiguous and challenging situations and comfortable with a fluid environment within an evolving organization. 
•    Familiarity with project management resources and tools.
•    General knowledge of local funding bodies and grant regulations.
•    Ability to resolve complex issues and to make administrative and procedural decisions
•    and judgments.
•    Must have an advanced application of MS Office Suite (CRM, Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
•    Hands-on, analytical, empathetic, creative, passionate professional committed to ongoing progress
