Job Description
The Assistant Manager (Research & Intelligence) will support the Enterprise Resilience – Research, Intelligence & Strategy (ERRIS) Unit by conducting research and providing timely and actionable intelligence to manage strategic risks and enhance the university's risk resilience. This role involves horizon scanning for emerging trends, threats, and opportunities, leveraging technology for data gathering and analysis, and supporting strategic risk management and operational tasks within the unit.
- Research & Intelligence Gathering and Reporting
- Conduct continuous horizon scanning to identify emerging trends, threats, and opportunities impacting the university's strategic objectives.
- Conduct topical research and deep dives, comprising data analysis and visualisation, to provide actionable intelligence for sharing with the management team
- Contribute to the development of risk insights reports and presentations based on research and intelligence to keep the management informed of developments to support enterprise resilience and strategic decision-making.
- Leverage technology and data analytics tools to gather and analyse relevant information.
- Strategic Risk Management
- Support the formulation and implementation of strategic risk management frameworks and processes, ensuring alignment with the university’s long-term objectives.
- Support strategic risk assessments and scenario planning exercises on the identification and management of potential risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate strategic risk management practices across faculties, schools and administrative departments, fostering a proactive risk-aware culture.
- Operational Support:
- Assist with operational tasks within the department, including processing of payment and procurement requests, and supporting the unit’s events.
- Support the implementation of risk awareness campaigns for the community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in market research, intelligence gathering, or data analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends, preferably with past experience in handling big data.
- Proficient with data analytics tools and technology platforms.
- Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Dynamic, problem-solver and agile team player that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
