Job Description

The School of Computing Student Life team aims to foster student success by providing students with broader experiences that support a balanced university life within and beyond the classroom. Its activities help students develop into well-rounded individuals, build a sense of belonging to the SoC community, and strengthen relationships with others.

Position Overview 

The Assistant Manager/Manager will support the administration and operations of the Student Life Office at NUS School of Computing. The role will involve data management, compliance, stakeholder coordination, event administration, and logistics support to ensure smooth delivery of student life programmes and office operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Management and Compliance 
    • Maintain accurate student-related records, databases, event records, attendance lists, and administrative trackers. 
    • Ensure proper handling, storage, and updating of confidential information in accordance with university policies and data protection requirements.
  2. Stakeholder Liaison and General Administration
    • Serve as a liaison point for students, internal departments, faculty, vendors, and external partners. 
    • Respond to general enquiries and provide administrative support for Student Life programmes and initiatives.
  3. Events Administration and Logistics
    • Provide administrative and logistics support for student life events 
    • Coordinate venue bookings, catering, transport, event materials, registration, attendance tracking, and post-event documentation.
  4. Publicity and Marketing Support 
    • Support publicity and marketing efforts for Student Life events and initiatives. 
    • Work with various stakeholders to assist in preparing, coordinating, and disseminating publicity materials across relevant communication channels.
  5. Unit Operations and Strategic Initiatives
    • Manage unit-level operational workflows, and finance matters identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, resource planning, and service delivery. 
    • Support strategic initiatives undertaken by the Student Life Office. 

Requirements (Qualifications and Experience)

  • Degree in any discipline or Diploma and strong relevant experience. 
  • At least 2 years of relevant administrative/managerial experience. 
  • Strong organisational, coordination, and follow-up skills. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable working with databases, spreadsheets, and digital collaboration tools. 
  • Prior experience in higher education or student services would be advantageous. 
  • Experience with AI tools for efficient administrative tasks would be a plus
