Job Description

The Lien Centre for Palliative Care at Duke-NUS Medical School invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Research Track) in Implementation Science, with a focus on serious illness, ageing, and palliative care.

LCPC is a leading research centre advancing population-level approaches to palliative care across Asia. The Centre’s work spans health services research, implementation science, and digital innovation, with emphasis on system redesign, care integration, and improving outcomes for patients with serious illness and their families.

 

Position Overview
We are seeking a researcher whose research methods might include quantitative and qualitative research, behavioural, decision and implementation science to design, evaluate, and scale interventions that improve care delivery for serious illness and ageing populations.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Design and evaluate implementation strategies (e.g., care pathways, digital health interventions)
•    Apply rigorous methodological approaches, including mixed methods and hybrid trials.
•    Secure competitive research funding as Principal Investigator
•    Publish in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
•    Collaborate with clinicians, health systems, and policy stakeholders

 

Desirable Areas of Focus
•    Implementation of person-centred models of care
•    De-implementation of low-value care practices
•    Digital health and AI-enabled care delivery
•    Integrated and community-based care models
•    Measurement and improvement of quality of care and outcomes

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in implementation science, health services research, public health, or a related field
  • Possess strong track record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementation frameworks and evaluation methods
  • Have experience working with healthcare systems or policy stakeholders
  • Able to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Have skills in communicating complex ideas to non-technical audiences
