Duke-NUS invites applications from outstanding candidates for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions in cryo-electron tomography and subtomogram averaging. The successful candidates will advance research on biomedically significant diseases, including cancer, metabolic disorders, and mental health conditions.

  • Demonstrated potential to achieve and sustain high-level performance, with excellence in either research or education, and very good quality in the other, alongside a proven record of excellence in service.
  • A strong track record of research excellence, evidenced by high-quality and impactful publications, research productivity, independence, leadership, and growing international recognition, including creative professional activity and practice-led research.
  • A record of educational excellence, demonstrated through positive peer and student evaluations, impactful supervision and mentorship, leadership in curriculum development and pedagogy, and recognition through teaching awards or innovative curriculum initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree with a strong background in cryotomography and subtomogram averaging to study in situ structural biology.
  • Research independence and demonstrated leadership in managing a productive research team.
  • Exceptional track record in securing competitive research funding and publications in high impact scientific journals.
  • Prior experience in translating research towards pre-clinical or commercial applications is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to mentor and train graduate students and postdoctoral research staff.
