Job Purpose
The Candidate will lead the delivery and operational support of Finance systems, with a focus on Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Reporting. He/She will partner closely with business users, vendors, and IT stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and drive implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Finance applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement and User Management
- Partner with business analysts and finance users to understand planning, financial consolidation and reporting needs and priorities.
- Provide timely, clear communications to stakeholders on project milestones, releases, incidents, and service changes.
- Build strong relationships with users and maintain high satisfaction.
Functional and Technical Solution Design
- Drive envisioning and requirements workshops with business user.
- Translate planning, financial consolidation and reporting requirements into functional specifications and process designs to ensure seamless integration between processes.
- Collaborate with technical, network, systems, and security teams to design secure, scalable solutions within NUS landscape.
- Define data integration specifications and governance between source systems and Jedox, and oversee data exchanges with across systems with exception handling process to ensure high data integrity.
Project Management
- Accountable for end-to-end delivery of FP&A and Financial Consolidation and Reporting projects, meeting scope, timeline, budget, and quality targets.
- Lead activities including business requirements gathering and analysis, solution design, test planning and execution, go-live, and hypercare.
- Create and review project artefacts to meet quality standards and NUS policies.
- Manage vendors to deliver products and services in line with contracts and SLAs.
- Liaises closely with business users and builds good rapport
- Liaises closely with vendors to ensure successful delivery of products and/or services in accordance to contract.
- Manage project teams to optimize resources while maintaining positive team morale; drive continuous improvement of Financial Planning & Analysis and Reporting capabilities.
Application Maintenance and Support
- Accountable for the overall successful provision of on-going application maintenance and support to ensure SLAs are met (with/without Application Management Support team).
- Conduct and manage user requirement analysis for enhancements; translate business needs into specifications and secure sign-offs.
- Perform systems and data analysis including analysing existing system/program logic difficulties and revising the logic and procedures as necessary. Analyses and proposes data integration specifications for data exchanges with other IT systems inside and outside the organization.
- Evaluate solution options and recommend approaches aligned to business goals and architectural standards.
- Plan and execute patches, upgrades, and regression testing per QA methodologies.
- Ensure audit readiness, security compliance, and proper documentation.
- Conduct user training and develop reference materials.
- Meet IT support service targets and contribute to annual project planning and enhancement prioritization.
- Ensure adherence to NUS IT policies, standards, and quality documentation.
- Handles audit queries and ensures audit and security compliance are met.
Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- At least 10 years in IT, including 5+ years in FP&A/Reporting systems and SAP Finance.
- Domain knowledge in financial planning and reporting processes (annual budget cycles, rolling forecasts, scenario modelling, allocations, financial consolidation and reporting).
- Functional/technical experience with Jedox and SAP S/4HANA (e.g., FICO, PS, FM, TRM, CLM) are a plus.
- Strong technical grounding to collaborate with technical teams on complex requirements and integrations.
- Excellent analytical skills; able to quickly synthesize information and communicate complex topics clearly to varied audiences.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable engaging all levels of users and vendors.
- Self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision; proactive, organized, and a strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Willing to take up new challenges when opportunities arises.
- Certifications such as PMP or CITPM are an advantage; SAP/Jedox certifications are a plus.
- Experience in Higher Education is a bonus.
