Job Description

The Duke-NUS Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI) is seeking an Associate Director who will be responsible for the overall administration of research and business activities across all of its industry and commercialisation efforts. LTMI aims to develop local infrastructure and deep capabilities in the research and development of molecular imaging and radiotherapeutic technologies for diagnosis and treating cancer and infectious diseases.


The successful candidate will work closely with the LTMI’s Principal Investigator to manage high-budget LTMI research programmes and build the business development portfolio. The candidate will proactively liaise and communicate with all stakeholders including including the funders, pre-clinical and clinical research teams, commercialisation and business development teams, as well as industry partners.  


Overall Programme Management of LTMI:

  • Lead and manage overall business activities of LTMI.
  • Manage different projects as well as cross-project activities as required, including project milestones, budget and key milestones.
  • Monitor and track budget, expenditure, milestones, KPIs and progress of the LTMI programmes.
  • Communicate project progress, escalations, risks, and issue analysis to programme co-leads and key stakeholders regularly.
  • Act as a liaison between secretarial support and LTMI team across stakeholders, and funders.
  • Create and coordinate reports and submit them to internal and external stakeholders.

 

Business Development Function:

  • Establish new scientific and strategic partnerships, joint ventures and alliances.
  • Track, document and present milestones/KPI status for industry partnerships and deals regularly.
  • Liaise with the Contracts & Industry Engagement Department within Duke-NUS to ensure that contracts are initiated and closed on time.
  • Liaise and communicate with existing institutional and corporate contacts on a regular basis to maintain relationships.
  • Prepare presentation and marketing slide decks for business meetings and conferences. 
  • Follow-up and actively monitor the technology development and patent application status for the different research projects ongoing at LTMI.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Life Sciences with a focus on Biomedical; PhD will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in administration, with at least 5 years of experience in project management/leadership and/or business development or commercialisation, in a biomedical research, healthcare or academic environment. 
  • Prior experience in dealing with corporate partners and in negotiating and completing agreements, as well as strong project management is required.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, organisation and leadership skills with outstanding communication skills.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the processes of due diligence and alliance integration with a scientific and business acumen.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory processes in both biotech and med tech industry would be advantageous.
