Job Description

The Associate Director / Senior Manager (EIR) is responsible for the development and management of EIR policies, processes, employee & labour relations advocacy. This position interfaces with employees, HR Partners, managers, supervisors, unions and government agencies.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage EIR policies and processes
  • Collaborate and partner legal and risk office in the management of end-to-end staff disciplinary cases including sanctions and terminations. 
  • Provide advisories to HR Partners, managers and supervisors in best employee and labour relations practices, and strategies for managing sensitive supervisor problems and employee grievances, management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues.
  • Manage staff's external interests/commitments and resolve potential or actual conflicts.
  • Provide advisories to HR Partners, staff, managers and supervisors on conflict of interest and staff's external interests/comitments.
  • Analyzes information and data necessary to policy implications of negotiations and disputes, which includes management and union proposals.
  • Drive union / arbitration meeetings and negotiations.
  • Researches and explais employment legislations to HR Partners, managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Create a data base of staff disciplinary cases for dashboard reporting, trend analysis and protection.
  • The Associate Director is expected to deputize EIR where required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a position of responsibility.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Possess knowledge of employment legislations.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
