NUS OAR
The NUS Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) fosters a lifelong relationship between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and its alumni. It provides a platform for alumni to stay connected with the University and each other through various programmes, events, and networking opportunities. OAR supports alumni in their personal and professional development, encouraging their involvement in university initiatives and community service. By promoting a vibrant and engaged alumni network in Singapore and globally, OAR aims to strengthen the NUS community, enhance its reputation, and contribute to the university's mission of excellence in education, research, and service to society.
Job Description
• Working with leadership team to engage Chinese alumni, reports to Deputy Director;
• Curating and organising alumni events, activities and networking opportunities for Chinese alumni in Singapore and key cities in China;
• Working with alumni leaders to engage alumni through regular activities;
• Supporting and providing support to Chinese alumni networks in Singapore and China;
• Establishing a calendar of alumni events and activities targetted at Chinese alumni;
• Managing administrative and budgetary matters relating to alumni activities;
• Proposing and executing effective engagement strategies to steward and support Chinese alumni more efficiently;
• Assisting in producing regular reports on Chinese alumni engagement to the management;
• Collaborating with colleagues on alumni-related projects;
• Supporting alumni engagement activities and meetings in Singapore;
• Supporting colleagues and working with other stakeholders to achieve OAR office’s mission;
• Guiding, mentoring and proof-reading for junior colleague(s) in office;
• Staffing NUS senior leaders at alumni events and alumni-related activities in key cities, when required; and
• Drafting speeches for NUS senior leaders speaking at alumni and alumni-related events, when required.
Qualifications
• A recognised degree with at least 10 years of proven track record in partnerships, alumni engagement or international relations
• A self-starter who is creative, resourceful and good with people
• Demonstrated proficiency in English and Mandarin, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages to effectively engage Chinese-speaking alumni and produce bilingual content
• Excellent project management and event organising skills, meticulous and attentive to details
• Hands-on, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
