Job Description
NUS Cities is a dynamic, interdisciplinary initiative within the College of Design and Engineering at the National University of Singapore. We invite applications for the Associate Professor (Educator Track).
The candidate should be dynamic, creative and hold a doctorate in city or urban related discipline, e.g. architecture, urban economics, sociology, engineering, from top universities around the world. The candidate would be expected to be highly experienced in teaching and mentoring, have a strong profile in either pedagogy or disciplinary research, and providing leadership and vision. The successful candidate must be able to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels in courses offered by NUS Cities programme, develop active research programmes to support either the education or research mission of NUS Cities, as well as having the potential and ambition to lead NUS Cities towards achieving its mission and goals. Relevant teaching, research or practice experience in systems approach, sustainable city planning, smart technologies, or urban systems, will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Leadership: Design and implement forward-thinking, interdisciplinary curricula that address urban systems, sustainable cities, and smart technologies.
• Collaborative Partnerships: Cultivate and strengthen ties with international academic institutions, governmental organizations, and industry partners to enhance the programme’s relevance and global impact.
• Educational Innovation: Leverage AI and blended learning methods to drive innovative educational approaches that prepare students for the future of urban development.
• Strategic Vision: Define and guide the strategic direction of NUS Cities' educational programmes, ensuring alignment with global sustainability initiatives and the evolving needs of smart cities.

Qualifications
• PhD degree or equivalent.
