Job Description

The Lien Centre for Palliative Care (“LCPC”) in Duke-NUS Medical School aims to be the premier palliative care research and educational centre in the region. With generous support from the Lien Foundation, strategic collaborations with the National Cancer Centre Singapore and the broader SingHealth institutes within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, LCPC is poised for significant growth in the coming years.

 

The LCPC Education’s mission is to deliver high quality palliative care education for health care professionals at the generalist level to meet the growing palliative care service needs locally and regionally. We are seeking for a full-time Curriculum Developer/Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of functions related to the LCPC’s education mission under the supervision of the Head, Education in LCPC, but not limited to the following:-

 

  • Design and develop curriculum for training programmes.
  • Prepare lesson materials, resources for the programme.
  • Update learning outcomes to reflect centre’s vision in palliative care.
  • Make presentations and videos or e-learning modules.
  • Partner with clinical leads and academic institutions to assess training needs, improve pedagogy, curriculum development and training materials based on feedback from stakeholders.
  • Build competency-based learning modules and common interdisciplinary courses.
  • Lead and oversee operational matters and educational activities.
  • Initiate, develop and implement new collaborations and partnerships locally, regionally and globally.
  • Pursue accreditation of existing and new training courses with national frameworks to secure government funding and subsidies.          
  • Explore innovative ways (modern educational technologies) and work with subject matter experts to innovate learning methods to deliver education to make it effective and impactful for learners.
  • Prepare regular reports (compliance, operational and data-driven).
  • Write and secure education grants.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Executive Director of LCPC.

Qualifications

  • Possess a Master in Education, Instructional Design or related discipline.
  • Familiar with Singapore’s national upskilling strategies, SSG Interactive Skills Framework and Adult Learning Principles.
  • Experience in curriculum development or adult education environments within Singapore.
  • Experience in educational programme management within academic centers will be advantageous. 
  • Possess strong writing skills and good communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess strong EQ and interpersonal skills.
  • Have the ability to write grants and reports.
  • Organised, motivated, hands-on and able to multi-task.
