Job Description
You will play an important role in the Development Office managing a portfolio of major gift prospects, leading the annual giving campaigns, overseeing events management, leading in development communications, donor relations and special projects. You will shape a Development Programme, develop exciting fundraising campaigns and programmes, as well as build internal policies and procedures for the College. You will also mentor and lead a junior member of the Development team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Major Giving
- Plan and lead in the major giving programme of the College.
- Identify, research, cultivate and steward a portfolio of individual and organisational prospects/donors.
- Develop a donor solicitation strategy for major gift prospects and draft major gift proposal documents.
- Manage all aspects of the donor stewardship programme inclusive of stewardship reports as well as donor-recipient meetings.
- Track and assess major gift fundraising metrics.
Annual Giving
- Establish and manage all aspects of the Faculty & Staff Giving Campaign at the College, including:
- Developing the strategy, design and implementation of the inaugural Faculty & Staff Giving Programme.
- Identifying readiness of the campaign.
- Managing the online giving platform and stewardship of all annual fund gifts.
- Identifying fundraising champions to lead in shaping the programme and peer to peer asks.
- Managing a detailed schedule of the campaign.
- Maintaining reports to track success of the campaign. Track all data as it relates to annual giving.
- Establish and manage all aspects of the Alumni Giving Campaign at the College, including:
- Developing the strategy, design and implementation of the inaugural Alumni Giving Programme in collaboration with the alumni affairs team.
- Identifying readiness of the campaign to both groups (USP and Yale‐NUS alums).
- Managing the online giving platform and stewardship of all annual fund gifts.
- Identifying fundraising champions to lead in shaping the programme and peer to peer asks.
- Managing a detailed schedule of the campaign.
- Maintaining reports to track success of the campaign.
- Establish and manage all aspects of the Commencement Class Giving Campaign at the College, including:
- Developing the strategy, design and implementation of the Commencement Giving Programme, in collaboration with the NUS Development Office’s wider Commencement Class Giving campaign.
- Managing the online giving platform and stewardship of all annual fund gifts.
- Identifying fundraising champions to lead in shaping the programme and peer to peer asks.
- Managing a detailed schedule of the campaign.
- Maintaining reports to track success of the campaign.

Event Management
- Plan, curate and coordinate all aspects of virtual and physical donor events – inclusive of budgeting, project scheduling, programme development, venue sourcing, preparing administrative briefs and ensuring a smooth programme for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage all aspects of the guest list, inclusive of the seating plan.
- Prepare post-event analysis reports.
Development Communications
- Develop and oversee the communication strategy of the Development Office.
- Develop stories and content to engage community, donors and stakeholders. This includes social media, videos, collateral and website management.
- Design and craft proposals that align with the funding priorities of the College.
- Collaborate with the Development and the Communications team to compile an annual Giving Stories booklet.
- Manage the NUS College’s Giving email.
Donor Relations
- Create stewardship plans for all major and principal gift donors.
- Manage the recognition programme at the College.
- Craft and create stewardship reports for the College.
- Coordinate all prospect and donor meetings, as well as related events.
Special Projects
- As required, manage special projects for the Department/College.
Outreach Matters
- Provide support on other Outreach matters, from time to time.
- Assist in outreach events such as open house, acceptance campaign, commencement, alumni reunion, etc.
- As required, work with other administrative teams on cross‐ functional and shared duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
- Candidates with 10 years of working experience in a senior administrative role would be an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexible to be available and facilitate events and activities held after office-hours in the evenings and on weekends (as required) for Development and Outreach roles.
- Cross-cultural communication skills.
- Prior experience in fundraising, donor engagement or communications will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge in Salesforce, MailChimp, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and Video and Design Editing programmes will be an added advantage.
