About the Centre for Ageing Research & Education (CARE)
CARE is a multi-disciplinary research centre based in Duke-NUS Medical School (Singapore) with expertise in gerontology, public health, sociology, anthropology, epidemiology, public policy, and demography to identify needs and develop strategies to enhance the experience of ageing in Singapore.
CARE thrives on creating a collaborative and interdisciplinary space among research staff as well as external research investigators. Position Overview:
We are seeking an executive with experience in the organisation of education programmes as well as managing a department’s or centre’s communication, publicity and publications. The successful candidate will have a strong background in event organisation, writing and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organisation and Management of CARE’s Educational Events and Activities.
Work with members of the CARE secretariat team to organise and implement CARE’s educational events and activities including CARE’s Annual Conference, Experts Programme Webinars, Research Methods Workshop Series, Policy Roundtables and others.
Specific tasks include:
- Develop and manage events’ related budgets and finances
- Manage events’ publicity and marketing
- Manage events’ organisation including:
- Registration
- Liaison and coordination with all parties – trainers, participants
- Coordinate with CARE’s Assistant Manager on all aspects of events’ procurement and finance
- Manage events’ logistics – catering, audio/visual, registration, ushering etc.
- Collate of and liaise with participants
- Managing events’ feedback and related reports
2. Development and Management of CARE’s Communications Portfolios
Work with CARE’s Associate Director to develop CARE’s communications plans:
- Management of CARE’s website and social media (Facebook, X and Instagram)
- Management of CARE’s publicity on other platforms including Duke-NUS, SingHealth etc.
- Management of CARE’s events website if any e.g. conference website
- Manage CARE’s branding collaterals (brochure, corporate gifts)
- Manage CARE’s email account
- Manage CARE’s database
3. Organisation of CARE’s publications
Work with CARE’s Associate Director on the editing and publishing of CARE’s research brief series and other relevant reports such as Annual Report, Advisory Board Report, Quarterly Report to Funders
Specific tasks include:
- Editorial work on CARE’s research briefs and reports as necessary
- Liaise with relevant parties including designers and printers on the production of the research briefs and reports
- Distribute and publicise research briefs and reports
The above list is not exhaustive, and candidate may be assigned additional duties beyond the above scope from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
- Diploma holders with at least 5 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
- Prior work related experiences in marketing and communications
- Experience with event management, Canva software and MailChimp
- Experience with management of administrative, procurement and financial procedures and processes
- Experience in healthcare or education settings is advantageous
- Proficiency in relevant software [Microsoft Office programmes and Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator)] is an added advantage.
