Job Description

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a policy research think tank within the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. IPS is seeking a Field Executive for its Social Lab department, on a yearly renewable contract. This role supports the Field Manager in executing fieldwork duties for research projects and overseeing a team of interviewers to ensure the collection of high-quality and timely data through face-to-face, door-to-door, and computer-assisted telephone interviews using structured questionnaires.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist the Field Manager with project setup and planning;
• Coordinate and oversee fieldwork activities to ensure smooth execution;
• Recruit, train, and supervise field interviewers to meet project timelines and quality standards;
• Brief and supervise interviewers on fieldwork assignments;
• Monitor and ensure the accuracy and quality of collected data;
• Manage project resources efficiently to achieve timely completion of fieldwork;
• Verify data accuracy and acceptability before processing payments to interviewers and/or recruiters.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Degree or its equivalent;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive and proactive attitude;
• Demonstrated ability in team motivation, supervision and leadership;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
• Willingness to travel for field supervision and coordination;
• Prior experience in fieldwork operations or data collection management will be an advantage;
• Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint);
• Strong command of English with proficiency in at least one additional language – Chinese, Malay, or Tamil.
