About Us:

Prince George's Park Residence (PGPR), an NUS hostel re-established in 2022. Our vision is to be a premier growth-oriented hostel, providing exceptional pastoral care and fostering a resident-centred on-campus living experience. To achieve this, we have a committed residential life team consisting of a Master, Resident Fellows, Residential Life Office, and Residents Assistants. Our collective aim is to create a cohesive and supportive community, embracing residents from diverse backgrounds.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

As an Executive in the Residential Life Office, you will support and assist the Manager in ensuring the smooth functioning of various aspects of hostel life. You will be expected to either take the lead or provide support in the following key areas, depending on the needs of the team.

  • Student Leadership Programs : Assist in  the planning, facilitation, recruitment, selection, placement, training, and performance appraisals of student leaders within the hostel.
  • Residential Programs : Support the development and execution of residential  programs to enrich students' living experience.
  • Student Advisory Services : Provide advisory support to students regarding residential programs and activities.
  • Compliance and Disciplinary Records : Support the team in enforcing communal standards in the hostel, contact students on compliance matters, and maintain accurate student disciplinary records in NUS databases.
  • Pastoral Care : Learn pastoral care procedures and provide support when necessary.
  • Financial Management : Handle procurement, claims, and vendor payments through systems such as Ariba, Concur, and NUS Service Hub.
  • Digital Media and File Management Support : Coordinate with student leaders to manage the hostel's social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok) and website. Assist in archiving and reorganizing digital files in Teams folders when required.
  • Administrative Support : Offer timely and effective logistical and administrative support to the Residential Life Team.
  • Query Handling : Respond promptly and professionally to email and mailbox enquires.
  • Logistical Support : Offer timely and effective administrative, logistical, and welfare support to the Residential Life Team.
  • Facilities and Operations : Liaise with stakeholders on housing and facility-related matters. Conduct regular checks on hostel facilities and assist in tracking inventory items.
  • Collaborative Projects : Work with other university offices and residential student groups to manage projects that enhance the residential experiences of NUS students.
  • Student Support Collaboration :  Collaborate with different stakeholders on student support matters, infrastructure-related concerns, housing matters, and facility bookings.
  • Ad-hoc Projects : Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum a Bachelor degree or Diploma holder with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Candidates with experience in website management will be given an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS office applications and IT savvy, including familiarity with social media platforms.
  • A vibrant, forward-looking individual who enjoys working with students.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills.
  • A team player with a positive, proactive attitude
  • Enjoys working with students in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
