Executive (Sociology and Anthropology, NUS)
Reporting to Associate Director, the incumbent will be working in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. For this position, the incumbent shall support the smooth administration of our Postgraduate programmes and contributes to the department’s outreach and communications initiatives. The Executive will work closely with teaching faculty, students, colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure high standards of service and operational efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
Programme Administration (Postgraduate Programmes):
- Provide administrative support to launch and manage Postgraduate programmes.
- Oversee day-to-day programme operations, including supporting teaching faculty on programme administration matters and providing logistical support.
- Support exam processes, including checking and verifying marks submitted by faculty, assisting in invigilation, and ensuring compliance with examination policies.
- Assist in administrative and logistical arrangements for departmental events and activities, including venue booking, setup, and on-site support.
- Attend to queries from students, staff, and members of the public via counter service, calls, and email.
Outreach & Communications:
- Manage and coordinate the department’s outreach and communication efforts, including drafting and disseminating internal and external communications, announcements, and publicity materials.
- Plan, execute, and support outreach initiatives to engage students, alumni, and donors, in alignment with the department’s strategic goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental branding and online presence.
General Administration:
- Undertake other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by the Admin Lead to ensure the smooth running of departmental operations.
Requirements
- A recognised University degree, with relevant administrative or communications experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage different stakeholders professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with digital communication platforms.
- A proactive, resourceful, and team-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively.
