Duties & Responsibilities
This role will support the day-to-day administration of industry engagement and partnerships at CFISG, working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Strategy, Partnerships, and Technology Translation. The candidate will play a key role in driving industry engagement and partnership activities, bridging communication and collaboration between CFI Singapore, partner institutions, and industry stakeholders to advance joint initiatives and strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will bring exceptional interpersonal and writing skills, coupled with strong organizational abilities. Success in this role requires diplomacy, creativity, and a detail-oriented mindset, along with the ability to navigate complex institutional and research environments. The candidate must excel at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines and demonstrate a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to fostering impactful partnerships.
The successful candidate will cover the following roles:
a) Strategic Partnership Development and Engagement
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Strategy, Partnerships & Technology Translation to develop a multi-year strategic partnership roadmap, outlining key partnership goals, priority sectors, target organizations, and milestones.
• Develop and implement targeted engagement and outreach strategies to establish CFISG as a hub for industry partnerships, facilitating strong collaboration networks and showcasing the Institute’s capabilities.
• Follow up with communications and arrange dialogue and discussion sessions with the identified strategic industrial partners and other organizations to advocate for CFISG’s initiatives.
• Design and implement outreach programs, including informational sessions, seminars, and dialogue sessions, to showcase CFISG’s research and partnership opportunities to a broader industry audience.
b) Partnership Operations and Administration
• Coordinate all necessary documentation for research collaborations, and work together with different NUS entities to facilitate the drafting and management of Research Collaboration Agreements (RCAs), Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
• Organize and facilitate partner engagement activities, such as workshops, roundtable discussions, or other events, to showcase research advancements and explore new collaboration opportunities.
• Establish and manage a partnership pipeline, tracking potential new partners and strategically aligning their interests with CFISG’s core objectives and ongoing research initiatives.
• Develop mechanisms for collecting feedback from industry partners regarding their experiences with CFISG, using insights to continually enhance partnership administration processes.
c) IP and Technology Translation Management
• Working closely with CFISG researchers, to develop and implement an IP strategy that aligns with CFISG’s long-term goals and research strength, identifying priority areas for patenting, copyright, and other IP protections.
• Use insights from IP analysis to identify potential white spaces, advising on research focus areas that have strong commercialization potential.
• Assist in technology translation activities, agreement preparation, IP management in CFISG
d) Resource and Partnership Management
• Assist Directors in managing agreements, documentation, and resource pledging with external partners, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
• Develop streamlined processes for agreement review, approval, and renewal to reduce bottlenecks and enhance efficiency.
• Act as the main point of contact between partnership stakeholders and CFISG, facilitating cross-functional collaboration to support partnership goals.
e) Integrated Communication, Outreach and Marketing
• Working closely with different principle investigators in CFISG, assist in the development and management of social media channels, website content, and digital newsletters to keep stakeholders informed about ongoing research, events, and new partnership opportunities.
• Support CFISG’s communication efforts, including outreach activities, and coordinate with stakeholders on publications, presentations, and other materials that promote CFI’s research and achievements.
• Create case studies, success stories, and testimonials that showcase the real-world applications of CFISG’s work, positioning the institute as a thought leader in coastal protection and flood resilience.
Job Requirements
• Degree in business administration, accounting or engineering
• At least 3+ years of related administrative experience
(previous positions in academic environments and deep science fields would be a plus)
• Demonstrated multi-stakeholder project management experience
• Ability to handle complex, ambiguous and challenging situations and comfortable with change in a fluid environment within an evolving organization.
• Familiarity with project management resources and tools.
• General knowledge of local funding bodies and grant regulations.
• Ability to resolve complex issues and to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments.
• Must have an advanced application of MS Office Suite (CRM, Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
