About Us

The Development Office (DVO) is the University-wide office responsible for driving philanthropic support for the University’s mission. Within the Development Office, the Gift Finance Team is part of the Operations Team, alongside Gift Processing and Corporate Services.

 

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a team that supports meaningful development-related work. It is well suited for someone with an interest in philanthropy who is looking to grow a career in the broader development sector.

 

About the Role

You will support a range of finance and operational activities related to gift management, compliance, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Support the application and allocation processes for government matching grants, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and guidelines, and preparing accurate schedules and reports for timely submission.
  • Respond to queries on gift finance matters from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to support audit and certification processes.
  • Prepare management reports, schedules, internal and external compliance reports, and cash flow projections.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency, including supporting system enhancements from time to time to strengthen effectiveness and productivity.
  • Manage matters relating to the US Foundation, including gift processing, US tax filing, preparation for annual board meetings, and liaison with faculties and other stakeholders.
  • Undertake projects and other duties as assigned.

 

About You

We are looking for a proactive and meticulous individual who is able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

 

You should have:

  • A recognised university degree or professional qualification in Accounting or Finance. Candidates with a diploma with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Preferably at least 3 years of relevant working experience in finance or accounting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Good organisational skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive mindset and a commitment to improving processes and operational effectiveness.
  • Experience in the higher education or philanthropy sector would be an advantage.
