Description
The Grant & Programme Officer (Officer) will act as the administrative and operational backbone of the research centres, independently managing day-to-day operations, programme coordination, and grant administration.
The Officer works independently to deliver comprehensive administrative and operational support to the research centres taking responsibility for day-to-day administrative functions as well as programme design and coordination, partnership and event management, grant administration and compliance, and financial and outreach activities.
The roles and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Serve as the main point of contact for coordinating, preparing, and submitting research proposals, agreements, budget plans, and project reports to stakeholders and funding bodies.
- Handle the submission of applications to grant calls and liaise with grantors and the relevant offices on the acceptance of funding.
- Administer research project funds, monitor their utilization, reconcile account statements, and provide periodic updates.
- Coordinate with grantors, monitor fund receipts, prepare documentation for audit, and review and verifiy payments and claims.
- Coordinate the appointments of research staff, and the engagement of students and visitors.
- Liaise with researchers and vendors on the procurement of goods and services and the processing of related payments.
- Serve as the meeting secretariat, coordinating meeting arrangements and preparing presentation materials.
- Responsible for event publicity, logistics preparation, and post-event wrap-up.
- Support the Director and Centre Manager in working with the relevant offices to help streamline operations and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of work experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Analytical, numerate, resourceful and energetic.
- Able to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate initiative and strong communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
