The Assistant Director, Human Resources at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine holds a pivotal position in forming strategic HR partnerships with stakeholders, ensuring the seamless alignment of HR functions with the University's policies and guidelines for Executive and Administrative staff. This leadership role involves spearheading a team of HR Business Partners to implement HR initiatives that address and fulfill business needs through innovative HR solutions. Core responsibilities encompass talent acquisition and management, performance management, workforce and succession planning, manpower review, industrial relations, and rewards and recognition. Additionally, the Assistant Director will oversee both the Learning & Development team and the Manpower Analytics team, driving HR excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

  • Partner with business units’ leaders, provide insights and drive strategies to achieve organisational goals, including process improvements and people development.
  • Lead a team of HR Partners to provide HR operational solution and support to all business units in the School.
  • Oversee staff programmes, processes and initiatives of the School, which include appointment and reappointment, performance appraisal
  • Build and maintain effective work relationships with key stakeholders, providing guidance and coaching on employee relations, performance and development issues.
  • Lead and provide guidance on HR projects, committees and events.

  • Support and contribute in creating a culture of growth and learning in the School.
  • Build capabilities to facilitate new forms of digital learning, drive efficiencies and adoption aligned to changing business strategies.
  • Coordinate communication plans to drive strong employee engagement through various training initiatives and programmes.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or above, in human resources or related field is preferred.
  • Preferably with 12 years of experience in HR Business Partnering or equivalent role, ideally in higher education or healthcare sector.
  • Experienced in leading a team, and ability to develop an effective team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 required.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors or Workday is required.
