The Office of the Provost invites applications for Fellows of Acacia College. Successful applicants will be appointed as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer on the Educator Track.

Acacia College provides a unique living and learning experience for undergraduates in their first and second year. It will offer the UTown College Programme (UTCP) and contribute towards a holistic education that integrates academic, social, and personal development.
Duties & Responsibilities
Applicants from diverse academic disciplines with expertise and experience related to the interdisciplinary integration of Artificial and Human Intelligences or related technologies are most welcome. Some examples are:
- the competent use of generative AI tools for creating text, image, video
- the novel applications of AI and/or the serendipitous discoveries arising from AI
- the knowledge of robots and AI
- the measures of AI performance
- the knowledge of dark web, its dangers, etc.
- the use of AI in societal transformation or sustainability, etc.
- the use of AI and innovation across industries (creative arts, finance, logistics, etc.)
- the use of AI, technology, and data analytics in sports, games, competition, etc.
- the use of AI and technology to assist the young, the elderly, the disabled, etc.
- and others
As Acacia College offers interdisciplinary Year 1 and Year 2 level seminar-style courses as an alternative pathway to fulfil undergraduate students' General Education graduation requirements, Fellows are expected to design, lead or co-lead seminar(s) in an interdisciplinary and highly interactive educational environment.
Beyond formal classroom instruction, Fellows are actively involved in teaching and learning activities outside the classroom. They also contribute to Acacia College's operations by leading in essential administrative tasks and through service roles.
We are seeking candidates who are truly invested in and dedicated to supporting students' holistic development, both as individuals and as members of a community within a living-learning environment as technology and AI do not only solve the problems of today, but seek to anticipate and mitigate the problems of tomorrow.
Qualifications
- PhD degree in a relevant field. (Doctoral students who will be in the job market are encouraged to apply too).
- Applicants without a PhD degree may be considered on a case-by-case basis based on their Master’s degree, working experience, or expertise in a certain domain. For example, they have at least 3 years of relevant teaching experience and/or they have at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Administration and events management experience, if any.
- Willingness to engage and mentor students both in and out of classroom.
- Other accredited qualifications and/or experience relevant to interdisciplinary integration of artificial and human intelligences or related technologies are desirable
- Desire to pursue a career as an educator who is reflective, and is interested to engage in scholarly inquiry in teaching and learning
