Job Description
Reporting to the Lead Dental Lab Technologist, the Maintenance Lab Technologist will be the primary point of contact for dental equipment maintenance and coordination with vendors for preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all equipment in the dental simulation and teaching labs, and execute urgent on-site repairs for simulation units, dental handpieces, and Stimulation/KaVo jaws as required.
• Provide training and student support for students on the use of dental simulators and Bunsen burner handling.
• Serve as the primary liaison, supervise external contractors and coordinate for annual testing and certification of safety critical infrastructure and equipment. Supervise vendor-performed maintenance contract work and tracking and inspecting and signing off repair works/reports.
• Ensure that documentation and compliance of laboratory equipment are accurate and up to-date, ensure readiness for safety audits and compliance reviews.
• Manage the commissioning and decommissioning for laboratory equipment.
• Any ad-hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by the Reporting Manager to support the overall objectives of NUS Dentistry.
Qualifications
• Minimum NITEC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory dental clinic or technical support environment.
• Prior experience handling dental simulation equipment or medical/dental devices is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance processes and contractor/vendor coordination.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-based environment.
