Job Description
Established as a centre within the Dean’s Office at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build an international platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address women’s major health concerns across the lifespan.
Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will:
• Conduct cutting-edge research on the health and well-being of women and their families
• Narrow the gaps between research, policy, and practice
• Improve health outcomes and well-being of women, children, and families
The candidate will report to the Centre Director and oversee all administrative and operational functions of the Centre:
Job Description
• Work with the Director to ensure the Centre’s operation is effective and efficient while adhering to all policy and procedural guidelines.
• Support the control of the budgeting/forecasting process against the Centre’s intended milestones and deliverables as well as generate budget reports.
• Handle day-to-day Corporate and Administration Services (HR, Finance, Procurement, Core Centre Research Administration and Grant Management).
• Work closely with faculty members and researchers as well as with other departments on matters relating to Centre’s Core Research Support requirements.
• Supervise a small team of administrators to support the operations of the Centre.
• Oversee projects and events such as conferences, workshops, and forums through monitoring progress and keeping track of timelines.
• Manage relationships with funding partners and foster long-term collaborations.
• Assist in projects related to the above, including process and controls improvements.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as allocated by the Reporting Manager and/or GloW Leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master’s degree.
- At least 5 years of experience, preferably in a research or academic organization.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively across departments within the University.
- Good understanding of the research environment.
- Adhere to high standards of professional integrity and ethics.
- A congenial and resilient personality with a positive and genuine interest in supporting a community of scientists/academics/advocacy
- groups/industrial partners/junior staff.
- Independent and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Fast learner, sharp-minded, meticulous, and able to pick up systems and work processes quickly.
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proactive, problem solver, able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
