Job Description
The MSc Programmes Office is seeking an experienced Admissions Operations & Analytics Manager to strengthen its admissions and enrolment operations across the School's portfolio of MSc programmes. The Admissions Operations & Analytics Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the admissions and enrolment experience by combining operational excellence with data-driven decision-making and continuous process improvement. Working at the intersection of admissions, analytics and technology, the incumbent will lead initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, improve the applicant journey and support enrolment objectives through actionable insights.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, translating data into meaningful insights and leveraging technology – including automation and AI-enabled tools – to build smarter, more efficient admissions processes.
Duties and responsibilities
The incumbent's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Admissions Operations & Enrolment Management
- Manage the end-to-end admissions cycle for assigned MSc programmes, ensuring a high-quality applicant experience and timely admissions decisions.
- Administer and maintain the admissions system, including application workflows, communication triggers, user permissions and data integrity.
- Manage applicant correspondence throughout the admissions lifecycle, ensuring communications are timely, accurate and aligned with University policies.
- Conduct admissions interviews and onboarding briefings for incoming students.
- Ensure compliance with University admissions policies, procedures and service standards.
- Support orientation, commencement and other programme-related events.
Data Analytics & Business Insights
- Design, develop and maintain dashboards, reports and visualisations that provide timely insights into admissions performance and applicant behaviour.
- Monitor and analyse key admissions and enrolment metrics, including applications, offers, conversion rates, yield and enrolment against targets.
- Produce regular and ad hoc reports to support operational planning and strategic decision-making by senior management and stakeholders.
- Analyse applicant satisfaction and feedback data (e.g. admissions experience surveys and Net Promoter Score) to identify opportunities for service enhancement.
- Monitor admissions trends and identify opportunities to strengthen admissions strategies and operational effectiveness.
Process Improvement & Digital Transformation
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline admissions processes, improve service quality and enhance operational efficiency.
- Review existing workflows and redesign business processes using data, stakeholder feedback and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI and digital technologies to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy and enhance scalability.
- Translate insights from admissions data and process reviews into practical operational improvements.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation to support consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and system vendors to implement enhancements to admissions systems and workflows.
Stakeholder Engagement & Team Development
- Collaborate with marketing, recruitment, academic departments and central University offices to support enrolment objectives and align admissions activities with the wider recruitment strategy.
- Present admissions insights and recommendations to management and key stakeholders.
- Train, mentor and support junior staff in admissions operations and best practices.
- Support cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives undertaken by the MSc Programmes Office.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of Admissions and the Head of the MSc Programmes Office.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Marketing or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in university admissions, enrolment management or a related operational environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across academic and professional teams.
- Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting operational data and presenting insights through dashboards, reports and data visualisations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables, advanced formulas and data analysis); experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar business intelligence tools is highly desirable.
- Experience designing or implementing workflow automation solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate, Power Platform or similar automation tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to business process improvement, workflow redesign or digital transformation initiatives.
