Build and Grow the Innovation Community
• Develop and nurture a strong innovation culture across the College of Design and Engineering (CDE).
• Engage students, researchers, and faculty in innovation and entrepreneurial activities.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and connections within and beyond the University.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Actively engage with students, faculty, and researchers to identify innovative ideas and opportunities.
• Serve as a key liaison between innovators and internal/external partners.
• Build relationships with industry, startup ecosystems, and investors.
Research Translation & Commercialisation
• Support the translation of research outcomes into real-world applications.
• Identify promising technologies and facilitate pathways to commercialisation.
• Work closely with researchers to assess innovation potential and readiness.
Startup Development & Support
• Guide early-stage startup teams from ideation to validation.
• Connect founders with relevant mentors and resources.
• Support access to funding opportunities, incubators, and accelerators.
Pipeline Development
• Build and manage a robust pipeline of innovation projects and startups.
• Track progress from idea generation through prototyping to venture creation.
• Identify high-potential ventures and support their growth trajectory.
Programme & Event Management
• Conceptualise and organise innovation-related programmes, workshops, hackathons, and demo days.
• Drive participation and engagement across the CDE community.
• Showcase innovation outcomes to internal and external audiences.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated interest in innovation, entrepreneurship, or technology commercialisation.
• Familiarity with startup ecosystems and innovation frameworks.
• Experience in startups, venture capital, or community-building roles is highly advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage programmes, events, or initiatives independently.
