The School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) was established to drive the expansion of NUS’ lifelong learning offerings in a concerted and strategic way that furthers our mission to be a leading global university, as well as fulfil our role as a public university of Singapore, shaping the future.

 

SCALE-Global aims to provide youths, executives and corporations access to NUS’ suite of innovative, world-class Continuing and Lifelong education offerings, to stay relevant and ahead of competition.

 

Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/training programmes, part-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs individuals.  All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.

 

About the Role

 

To augment the manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our SCALE-Global  team.

 

Reporting to Head (Programme Delivery), the incumbent shall support the operational integration between the SCALE-Global Business Development team and management of all operational aspects of SCALE’s global programmes, including youth programmes and international executive education programmes.  Responsibilities include programme operational planning and execution, building and maintenance of relationships and collaboration efforts with both international and local partners and clients.

 

This role is offered on a 2-year renewable contract basis in the first instance, and the contract may be renewed for 1 more year.  The successful candidate may be considered for regular open employment contract subject to satisfactory job performance during the first 3 years of service.

 

Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to the incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.

 

The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade, based on his/her individual merits.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Support the strategic and operational priorities of SCALE-Global’s local and international programmes
•    Collaborate with all related parties to ensure successful fulfilment of every programme delivery in terms of planning and on-site execution, including establishing event timelines and planning for event staffing and all logistics resourcing matters, for a seamless programme execution
•    Responsible for vendor management, including assessment of services, negotiation on pricing and seeking appropriate approval for service engagements 
•    Develop and execute programme evaluation processes to track customers’ feedback and drive continuous improvement initiatives
•    Provide leadership in creating a pleasant experience for programme participants throughout the programme duration to enable client relations
•    Serve as client advocate for programme hospitality, acting as interface between the clients and the programme team
•    Act as an administrative and logistical liaison for staff members, faculties, and participants
•    Establish communication and guest-invitation protocols, as well as operating procedures, with the planning committee and programme staff
•    Manage a team of contingent staff to support the activities of the business unit
•    Assess and identify all aspects of event risks and develop crisis management/contingency planning strategies
•    Prepare periodic status reports for senior management

Requirements:

 

Academic & Professional Certification
•    Bachelor degree from a reputable university in any discipline
•    Tech savvy; proficient in MS Office and other SaaS applications
•    Familiarity with CRM implementation would be an advantage

 

Experience & Attributes 
•    3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in managing the efficient execution of international executive education, corporate development and youth programme delivery, preferably in the education or hospitality sector
•    Familiarity with the local, regional and international higher education systems and executive education programme quality assessment/management is an advantage
•    Energetic and skilled people manager, able to lead and rally a team towards achieving common objectives in a fast-paced, results-oriented and ambiguous work environment
•    Excellent project management, budgetary and organisational skills
•    Driven hands-on self-starter with strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
•    Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
•    Intellectually curious, results-driven, self-motivated and highly disciplined
