Job Description

The Manager / Assistant Senior Manager will lead and oversee the strategic management and operational delivery of the Student Exchange Programmes (SEP) and other overseas learning initiatives under the Undergraduate Studies Office. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning capability, stakeholder management, and a commitment to enhancing international mobility opportunities and the overall student experience.


Programme Leadership and Student Experience

  • Provide oversight and end-to-end management of SEP and other global learning programmes, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and service quality.
  • Lead the planning and execution of application, selection, nomination, and onboarding processes for both outgoing and incoming exchange students.
  • Oversee the review and maintenance of programme information, including website and digital resources, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely updates.
  • Deliver high-impact student advisory, including briefings, consultations, and ongoing support throughout the exchange lifecycle.
  • Serve as the senior liaison for incoming exchange students, ensuring a smooth transition, integration, and positive experience.
  • Oversee completion activities, including credit transfer processes, fulfilment checks, and award administration, working closely with relevant university offices.
  • Drive and champion process innovation, leveraging data insights and operational feedback to streamline workflows, enhance accuracy, and improve student and partner satisfaction.
  • Support the administration and enhancement of broader global experience offerings, including Summer/Winter Schools, NUS Overseas Colleges, local exchanges, and student-initiated programmes.
  • Develop and maintain data dashboards and analytical reports to inform planning, forecasting, and programme evaluation.

 

Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach

  • Act as the primary liaison with faculty-level partner universities (PUs), ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Maintain and deepen collaborative relationships with existing PUs.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Relations Office (SR) to evaluate and establish new academic partnerships.
  • Lead or support strategic initiatives in partnership development, including partner assessments, benchmarking, and expansion of mobility opportunities for students.
  • Host partner delegations, coordinate faculty-level visits, and participate in strategic dialogues with SR and senior faculty leadership.


Academic Coordination and Curriculum Support

  • Provide oversight for SEP-related academic matters, including course registration and curriculum mapping.
  • Facilitate the add/drop and appeal processes for courses in collaboration with academic departments.
  • Maintain the Course Master List and coordinate with the Office of the University Registrar to ensure timely updates in the system.
  • Contribute to the administration of curriculum matters and support new initiatives or tasks as assigned by the Undergraduate Studies Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • At least 4–7 years of relevant experience in higher education, student mobility, academic administration, or related fields.
  • Experience supervising junior staff or leading projects will be an advantage.
  • Strong student-centric orientation with proven ability to engage and support diverse student groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident in both one-on-one and group settings.
  • Proven ability to manage complex programmes, multiple priorities, and time-sensitive operations.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and project management abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a solutions-driven and proactive mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-departmental and international collaborations.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to guide team operations, mentor junior staff, and contribute to long-term mobility strategy.
