Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Assistant in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics, School of Computing (SoC). SoC is strongly committed to research excellence in all its dimensions: Searching for fundamental results and insights, developing novel computational solutions to a wide range of applications, building large-scale experimental systems and improving the well-being of society. We are seeking a Research Assistant (RA) with strong analytical and organizational capabilities to support ongoing research projects. The RA will play a dual role involving both data-driven research support and active project management across multiple initiatives within the lab.
On the technical side, the RA will assist in processing and preparing semi-structured and large-scale datasets for econometric and analytical work. This includes implementing and adapting algorithms, ensuring data quality, and supporting empirical analysis. The candidate will gain exposure to proprietary datasets and real-world business problems, contributing to research at the intersection of academia and practice.
In parallel, the RA will be responsible for coordinating multiple research projects, managing timelines, and liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes ensuring smooth execution of project milestones, facilitating communication across collaborators, and maintaining accountability across workstreams.
The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of new research ideas and projects. Subject to contribution and performance, the RA may be considered for co-authorship in academic outputs, with appropriate attribution to the lab.
This position is well-suited for candidates with a strong interest in pursuing doctoral studies and developing a rigorous research profile.
