Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for the Cardiovascular-Metabolic Diseases Translational Research Programme (CVMD TRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. CVMD TRP is a multidisciplinary team of scientists working towards mechanistic understanding of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and development of novel therapeutic approaches. Appointment of the position will be on two-year contract with possible extension.
Job Description
We are looking for a research assistant with two main roles. The RA will assist with basic laboratory experiments including mouse phenotyping, protein biochemistry, molecular biology and cell culture in the laboratory of Dr. Roshni Singaraja in the CVDM TRP. At the same time, the RA will be working with CVMD TRP admin lead with a blend of administrative duties related to laboratory work and coordination of day-to-day operation at the bench.
Job Scope

TRP will do due diligence to balance the workload between the two lines of duty accordingly and ensure work-life balance to the best of our abilities.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties (CVMD TRP)
- Procurement of laboratory consumables
- Upkeep of instrument and consumables and other housekeeping matters
- Lab safety-related matters
- Assisting admin head with the organization and logistics of TRP-led events
- Other potential ad hoc duties by the TRP admin lead
Responsibilities
- Research Duties (Singaraja lab)
- Biomedical experiments such as cell culture, PCR, western blot, immunohistochemical staining, etc.
- Mouse models and phenotyping
- Western immunoblotting and protein biochemistry (co-immunoprecipitation and affinity purification)
- Lab management
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Life Sciences with more than 2 years of work experience
- Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in protein biochemistry
- Highly collaborative, and motivated to support the research team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail
