The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant in the Human Potential Translational Research Programme (HPTRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.  The HPTRP aims to bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines with an interest to maximise human potential. In HPTRP, focusing only on human studies, we aim to adopt a holistic perspective that considers human potential as an integrative measure of health, productivity, performance, human capital and overall well-being over the lifespan, in our environment. Appointment will be made on one-year contract, with the possibility of one-year extension.

 

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant will be responsible to, and work closely with, the admin managers to ensure the successful completion of projects on time. The RA’s principal role will be to work in research administration for the programme.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support to the research programme and research projects, such as in end-to-end management of procurement and payments.
  • Maintain list of expenditures and payments of grants.
  • Manage good inventories of consumables and equipment to the research programme and research projects.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding including setup of workspace and systems access.
  • Manage calibration and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
  • Support development and maintenance of SOPs, policies to enhance operations of the programme.
  • Assist with other duties of similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

Qualifications and requirements of the role are as follows:

  1. Recognised Bachelor’s degree, with at least 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in a research/academic organisation. Degree in life sciences, sports sciences, or related disciplines will be an added advantage.
  2. Adaptable and able to multitask with clear flow-through.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well in a team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  4. Detail-oriented, self-driven with high degree of professional integrity and resourceful.
  5. Good written and verbal communication.
  6. Proficient in MS Office Application and good IT literacy.

 

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
