The Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies (IREUS) is a university-level institute dedicated to advancing multidisciplinary research in real estate and related fields. Established in 2006, IREUS fosters high-impact research and collaboration across disciplines, serving as a global knowledge hub to address real estate challenges in Asia and beyond.

 

We invite applications for a Research Assistant (2-Year Contract) position. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop and enhance research skills, domain knowledge, and expertise in key focus areas, particularly commercial real estate, sustainability, and green investments. The selected candidate will gain valuable exposure to intellectual exchange and networking opportunities through participation in international conferences and seminars.

 

The Research Assistant will work closely with Professor Joseph Ooi, Co-Director of IREUS, on projects related to green retrofitting of commercial buildings, among other research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis and interpretation.
  • Assist in writing research papers, reports, and policy briefs.
  • Support literature reviews and data collection.
  • Collaborate with research teams on ongoing projects.
  • Engage in academic discussions and contribute to knowledge-sharing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong interest in real estate research.
  • Proficiency in data processing and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resourceful, self-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Adaptable, with strong multitasking and follow-through abilities.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative research environment.

 

This is a 2-year contract position, ideal for individuals seeking to build a strong foundation in real estate research while contributing to meaningful projects with real-world impact.
