The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant in the Infectious Diseases Translational Research Program (IDTRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

 

The Infectious Diseases Translational Research Program (IDTRP) is dedicated to advancing research that transforms fundamental discoveries into real-world solutions. With a vision of creating a world where affordable and effective prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases improve health outcomes across Asia, IDTRP integrates expertise in microbiology, immunology, clinical research, and public health to address global challenges.

 

 Appointments will be made on a 1-Year contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

 

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant will work closely with the IDTRP Programme Directors and Administrative Team, providing essential support in research administration.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support for the research program and projects, including the end-to-end management of procurement and payments.
  • Managing financial processes related to grant claims, such as tracking expenditures and processing payments.
  • Coordinating the procurement of laboratory consumables and equipment to meet research needs.
  • Overseeing the maintenance, calibration, and proper functioning of shared equipment.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies to streamline program operations.
  • Assisting with other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

 

  1. A recognized Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a research or academic organization.

 

  1. Prior experience in research administration, grant management, agreement review, or database management will be an added advantage.

 

  1. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, coupled with an investigative mindset and keen attention to detail.

 

  1. Proficiency in MS Office applications and solid IT literacy.

 

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
