The Lien Centre for Palliative Care ("LCPC") in Duke-NUS Medical School aims to be the premier palliative care research and educational centre in the region. With generous support from the Lien Foundation, strategic collaborations with the National Cancer Centre Singapore and the broader SingHealth institutes within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, LCPC is poised for significant growth in the coming years.
We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Research Assistant I Research Associate to join our team. This is a full-time position, and we are seeking candidates with a Bachelor of Nursing degree who want to work in research, or those with a degree in Public Health, Gerontology, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Those with relevant work experience in palliative care, elder care, long term care, and/or community nursing are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will perform responsibilities including but not limited to: -
- Recruit participants for research studies at various healthcare institutions in Singapore.
- Conduct data collection via survey administration and data entry, and ensure the data is accurate and complete.
- Arrange follow-up survey appointments with recruited participants and/or their caregivers.
- Assist with research project management, including coordinating team meetings and maintaining project timelines.
- Assist in the regular reporting of data collection progress.
- Maintain compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Gerontology, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or other related fields.
- Prior experience in conducting survey interviews with elderly or patients.
- Only Singaporeans/ Singapore Permanent Residents
- Possess strong organisational and communication skills.
- Research for conducting interviews requiring proficiency in English and Mandarin to converse with participants of research study.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel around Singapore for home visits to conduct follow-up surveys.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Understands ethical and regulatory issues related to research involving human subjects.
