Job Description
The team under the leadership of Professor Dean Ho at the N.1 Institute for Health is seeking a Research Assistant to support ongoing and upcoming human-centered research projects at the intersection of healthcare, technology adoption, and behavioral science.
The N.1 Institute for Health (n1labs.org) strives to redefine the landscape of personalized (otherwise known as N-of-1) treatments through technological innovations, such as CURATE.AI - an artificial intelligence platform developed and validated by Professor Dean Ho and collaborators, that has successfully optimized existing therapies in fields like oncology and most recently infectious diseases. Through its involvement in various interventional studies that have successfully demonstrated life-saving outcomes, N.1 has been part of many multidisciplinary collaborations with experts both in the healthcare system and in industry. To date, the projects undertaken by the expanding team have stretched far beyond clinical studies and into fields such as digital therapeutics. Staying true to its objective, N.1 constantly seeks to be the first to deploy interventional, institute-driven technologies in humans.
The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and a multidisciplinary research team. The role involves a combination of research execution, project coordination, fieldwork, and stakeholder engagement, and is well-suited to someone who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable working across both academic and real-world research settings. The role requires flexible working hours and locations, particularly when fieldwork, participant engagement, or study logistics require it.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support human-centered behavioral, social, and digital health research through qualitative and quantitative data collection, including interviews, surveys, experiments, and participant engagement.
2. Draft and review study materials (e.g. interview guides, questionnaires, consent forms) and maintain accurate research documentation in accordance with study protocols and ethics requirements.
3. Assist with day-to-day coordination of research projects, including study logistics, basic project tracking, management of student assistants, procurement, and liaison with collaborators and stakeholders.
4. Support data analysis and contribute to the preparation of research outputs such as reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, or related disciplines. Candidates from other fields are also encouraged to apply if they demonstrate relevant interest or experience in health-related behavioral studies, or human-centered projects.
• Prior experience or keen interest in behavioral, social, or health-related research
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced research environment
• Proficiency in spoken English and Mandarin (and/or dialect), with the ability to converse comfortably with older adults in Singapore
• Sensitivity to community-based and participant-facing research contexts
• Experience coordinating or supervising student assistants is an advantage
