Job Description

The Yeo Boon Khim Mind Science Centre (MSC) at the National University of Singapore is dedicated to advancing mind science through education, applied research, and real-world impact. It aims to strengthen mental health and wellbeing at every life stage. The Centre researches youth and adolescent resilience, community and caregiver mental health, workplace wellbeing, and digital interventions. MSC emphasises prevention and develops evidence-based, scalable programmes that translate mind science into education, professional practice, and policy for healthcare, communities, and society.

 

The research assistant will be based at MSC. The candidate will work closely with the Centre Director, Research Lead, study team members, collaborators, and industry partners. The goal is to drive integrative research efforts and grant applications across multiple disciplines and institutions.

 

The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal if performance is satisfactory.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Assist the Principal Investigator in submitting study notifications to the various ethics review boards.
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform the planning of research activities.
  • Plan, organise and coordinate the routine study activities workflow.
  • Assist investigators with screening and recruitment of potential participants/volunteers in accordance with the study protocol.
  • Assist with on-site research study activities.
  • Coordinate and follow up with participants on study requirements.
  • Handle data entry and cleaning.
  • Maintain Investigator Site Files and ensure that all study documents are complete and up to date.
  • Prepare for and follow up on Study Monitoring/ Audit Findings.
  • Provide regular study updates to investigators/ sponsor companies and manager(s) for study-related issues.
  • May also be involved in other research projects as assigned by the Principal Investigator

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • Good Bachelor Honours Degree or Master’s in Psychology or Science in Research from a recognised institution
  • Able to perform analysis using statistical software such as SPSS
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Team-oriented with strong coordination and organisational skills
  • Experience with research is a plus.
