Job Description
The Research Assistant / Associatewill support research on the diversity, ecology, and biology of marine zooplankton in Singapore.
Responsibilities include field sampling, sorting microscopic specimens, taxonomic and ecological analysis, as well as aquaria-based zooplankton research.
The role requires independent work, that includes irregular and extended hours.
Support for scientific workshops and hosting of international academic guests is expected.
Qualifications
Essential skills include:
i) ecological statistical analysis,
ii) marine invertebrate husbandry, in particular jellyfish,
iii) field sampling experience, and
iv) ability to work independently.
Experience with molecular techniques, including DNA extraction and PCR, as well as good communicative skills are desirable. Candidates with marine biology or related backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
