The Department of Geography, NUS, is now firmly established as Asia’s leading Department of Geography, consistently ranked among the top geography departments globally, and part of NUS’s College of Humanities and Sciences. This reputation is in part built upon research excellence in three key areas: tropical environmental change, social and cultural geographies, and political and economic geography. We currently host around 40 faculty and more than 70 research students and staff (https://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/geog/).
We are looking for a Research Assistant or Research Associate to help to take our department’s research to the next level. The position of Research Assistant or Associate will be offered based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
Job Description
The key responsibilities for the Research Assistant / Associate will include but are not limited to:
- Work with various Principal Investigators and Research Groups in the Department to document research achievements and produce research reports
- Conceptualisation and execution of research related content that will communicate the Department’s achievements on various communications and media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram and LinkedIn
- Day-to-day management of the Department’s media and communications platforms
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualise and organise research related events and programmes
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in the social sciences. A background in media, marketing and/ or communications is advantageous
- Prior experience in research writing, communication and dissemination
- Proven ability in digital communications and marketing, including social media engagement
- Self-driven, highly motivated, collaborative, and able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Willingness to acquire new skills
