The successful candidate will work with Professor Barbaros Oezyilmaz at the Graphene Lab, National University of Singapore.

 

The main responsibilities of the position include:

1. Project and Grant Management: Support the Principal Investigator (PI) in tracking budget utilization, manpower allocation, and procurement to ensure projects are on track. Oversee research and industry projects, including planning, compliance, and reporting. Assist with grant proposal preparation, submission, and tracking.

2. Business Development: Develop and evaluate business proposals, negotiate industry collaboration agreements, and actively foster partnerships to drive research applications and commercialization.

3. Industry and Academic Engagement: Serve as a coordinator for industry and academic discussions, facilitate collaborative meetings, and take an active role in engaging with industry stakeholders to build and sustain strategic partnerships.

4. IP Portfolio Management: Manage the lab's intellectual property portfolio, track inventions, support patent applications, and liaise with the university’s technology transfer office.

Qualifications/Experience

Qualifications / DisciplineA Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as:

- Engineering (e.g., Materials Science, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering)

- Science (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline)

- Business Administration or Management (especially if emphasizing industry collaboration and business development)

Experience:

1. At least 2–3 years of experience in research project management, business development, or related roles.

2. Familiarity with managing grants, budgets, and compliance with funding regulations.

3. Experience in academic or industry collaboration settings. 

4. Fluent in spoken and written English. Experience in Business English will be an advantage.
