Job Description

The Signature Research Programme in Health Services Research and Population Health (“HSRPH”) at Duke-NUS is a centre of academic excellence for research and education in the organisation, funding, and delivery of health services. The programme focuses on public health and clinical service innovation in an increasingly complex and connected world.  

We are seeking a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join our team at HSRPH. The selected candidate will work in the Impact Assessment Unit, which is a hybrid team of administrators and researchers from SingHealth and the Duke-NUS Medical School.  He/she will assist a team of health services researchers and perform a variety of activities relevant to the planned impact assessment for health innovations, including but not limited to:

• Conduct literature reviews to assess health innovations.
• Assist in preparing evaluation reports for clinical and innovation teams.
• Collaborate with clinical/research teams on data collection, analysis, writing, and grants.
• Perform health technology assessments with guidance.
• Help draft research abstracts and manuscripts.
• Engage and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Support secretariat and administrative tasks for the Programme.
• Manage research projects including coordination and administration.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Possess a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or related discipline in health services research. Master’s  in Public Health is preferred but not necessary.
• Candidates with clinical background and/or some relevant experience within the academic/research /healthcare/public health sector will be preferred.
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods (e.g. SPSS, R) and the willingness to learn more application.
• Experience in conducting health technology assessments will be beneficial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel VBA or R would be beneficial.
• Strong writing and presentation skills, with willingness to learn and contribute to manuscript and grant proposal development.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary workforce.
• Action-oriented, target-focused with good time-management skills.
