We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our team, specializing in the hands-on experimentation and characterization of materials. The successful candidate will work closely with the research team to conduct materials characterization, perform electrochemical testing, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for lithium battery recycling. This role requires a candidate with hands-on experience in material science techniques and electrochemical methods. 
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform experiments and characterization of materials using analytical techniques such as ICP, XRD, and FTIR.
  2. Conduct electrochemical analysis, including cyclic voltammetry, LSV and other related techniques.
  3. Prepare samples for testing and ensure proper calibration and maintenance of equipment.
  4. Analyze and interpret experimental data, providing clear and concise reports to the research team.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure experimental objectives are achieved.
  6. Maintain accurate records of experiments and uphold laboratory safety protocols.
  7. Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing experimental procedures as needed. 
  8. Assist in lab procurement activities.
     

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Hands-on experience with material characterization techniques such as ICP, XRD, SEM and FTIR.
  3. Proficiency in electrochemical methods is highly preferred.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to document and present findings.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  7. Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
  8. Experience in data analysis and interpretation software (e.g., Origin).
  9. Familiarity with additional characterization techniques is an added advantage.
  10. Prior experience in an R&D or industrial laboratory setting.
