Job Description
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NUS invites applications for a Research Engineer position. This role is part of a research project aimed at advancing the field of electrochemical CO₂ reduction.
Key Objectives: Develop a fundamental understanding of the reaction mechanisms and kinetics involved in CO₂ electroreduction; design and evaluate novel, cost-effective electrocatalysts and reactor systems for efficient conversion of CO₂ into value-added fuels and chemicals.
Facilities and Environment: Successful candidates will have access to extensive state-of-the-art infrastructure for materials synthesis, electrochemical testing, and a comprehensive suite of physical and spectroscopic characterization tools within the Department.
Requirements:
A strong background in chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or related fields.
Prior experience in electrocatalysis, electrochemical systems, or materials characterization is highly desirable.
Self-motivated individuals with good communication and teamwork skills are encouraged to apply.
Job Requirements
The applicants must hold a Bachelor degree and above (or other equivalent degrees) in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science or other relevant related fields. Experience with electrocatalysis, or similar chemistries, is considered advantageous. Experience with material characterization techniques like SEM/EDS, TEM, STEM, XRD, XAS, XPS, FTIR, and Raman will also be highly considered. Since cross disciplinary work is essential for the success of this project, it is considered positive if the candidate can demonstrate experience in similar work environments.
