Job Description
We are seeking for a research engineer to join our research team to work with PIs and co- PIs in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Architecture. This position's primary focus is developing tour-based destination choice models for Singapore’s future land use and transport systems using data-driven approaches.
Key responsibilities include:
• Collecting and analyzing relevant data;
• Designing tour-based destination choice models;
• Integrating developed models into Singapore’s existing tour-based transport framework;
• Working on research projects, supervising research students, and preparing research proposals and reports.
Job Requirements
• Possess a Bachelor and or MEng/MSc degree in a related discipline (transportation engineering, operations research, computer engineering/science, or related disciplines).
• Masters graduates without experience are welcome to apply.
• Candidates should demonstrate a strong expertise in discrete choice modeling, statistical modeling, and machine learning methods.
• Strong interest and expertise in discrete choice modelling, statistical modeling, traffic simulation, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in transport planning software such as EMME or PTV Visum.
• Programming expertise in at least one language, e.g., Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Open to fixed term contract.
