Job Description

The Translational Tumour Engineering (TTE) laboratory at the National University of Singapore is seeking a Research Assistant/ Engineer. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of an advanced tumor explant platform for the functional evaluation of cancer therapies. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining explant cultures across multiple tumor types, optimizing hydrogel-based culture protocols to extend tissue viability beyond current limits, performing cryopreservation of explant tissues, and supporting the generation of transcriptomic and spatial profiling data for primary tumors and their matched explants. The role also involves general lab management.

Qualifications

•    Possess at least a  bachelor's or master’s degree in biomedical engineering, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related discipline.

•    Has hands-on experience in mammalian tissue or primary cell culture. Familiarity with hydrogel or 3D culture systems, histology and immunostaining, or handling of human tissue samples would be an advantage. 

•    Meticulous, well organized and comfortable working with primary patient-derived material in a collaborative translational research setting. 

•    Open to fixed-term contract.
