Job Description
Are you a hands-on engineer passionate about pioneering semiconductor technology? Join our group at National University of Singapore (NUS) to develop a cutting-edge deposition system for 2D amorphous materials, an ultralow-k dielectric set to transform the industry. This dynamic role offers the chance to bridge research and commercialization, build a working prototype, and showcase its viability to top industry players.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Prototype System Development: Lead design, engineering, and hands-on assembly of a prototype 2D amorphous materials deposition system, incorporating industry standards and best practices.
- System Construction & Testing: Own physical construction, integration, and rigorous testing of prototype, including vacuum, gas delivery, and process control.
- Process Optimization & Characterization: Develop and optimize 2D amorphous materials deposition process to meet industry targets for film properties (uniformity, k-value, throughput).
- Performance Validation: Design and execute validation experiments, focusing on semiconductor industry adoption metrics (e.g., wafer uniformity, repeatability, integration).
- Industry Collaboration: Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and semiconductor companies to incorporate feedback and ensure industry relevance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation, prepare progress reports, and develop QC procedures for industrial adoption.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and prototype development.
- Hands-on experience with vacuum systems, gas handling, and data acquisition.
- Familiarity with thin film deposition, CVD systems highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Startup mindset: adaptable, resourceful, results oriented.
Experience:
- 2-3+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor industry or new product development.
