Job Description

The Department of Architecture at NUS invites applications for positions in an interdisciplinary research project on urban landscape representation. Successful candidates will join a dynamic and collaborative team working on large-scale, externally funded research addressing pressing urban challenges in Singapore and beyond. The research fellow is expected to join at the beginning of 2027. The position is a one-year appointment and might be renewed up to 3 years based on the performance and career plan of the hired person.

Responsibilities
•    Develop 3D urban landscape representations using point cloud processing, segmentation, and Gaussian Splatting.
•    Develop AI-based image and video analysis workflows for object detection, recognition, and tracking.
•    Support project coordination and delivery.

Qualifications

•    PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
•    Strong experience in point cloud processing, LiDAR, 3D reconstruction, and Gaussian Splatting.
•    Experience in computer vision, including YOLO-based object detection and real-time object tracking.
•    Preferred experience in design tool development and visualization.
•    Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
