Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join the Engine Retrofitting for Alternative Fuels project led by Prof. Yang Wenming and Dr. Zhou Xinyi. The successful candidate will work on developing alternative fuel engines using different combustion modes and ignition technologies, targeting high efficiency and near-zero emissions. Major duties and responsibilities include:
• Explore the potential of different combustion mode, develop advanced ignition technology, including the pilot-fuel ignition and pre-chamber ignition.
• Responsible for establishing the relevant test benches and in-house control system.
• Develop high-fidelity 3D-CFD engine simulation platform coupled with detailed chemical kinetic mechanisms.
• To supervise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students that work in the lab.

Qualifications
The candidate must:
- PhD in Engineering or a related field, with a focus on Ocean Engineering and Marine Engineering.
- Strong stills and publications in advanced optical diagnosis, engine bench tests, chemical kinetic mechanisms development and 3D-CFD simulations.
- Excellent experience in establishing engine test bench and developing in-house engine control.
- Experience and ability in leading a team to establish ammonia fuel engine.
- Excellent track record of publications in prestigious journals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
