Applications are invited for the following full-time position in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health: Research Fellow x 1 (1 year minimum, up to 3 years)

 

A Research Fellow position is available at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health to lead cardiovascular disease epidemiology research projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The successful candidate will spearhead advanced proteomic and clinical data analyses to enhance understanding of heart failure and related cardiovascular conditions.

 

The major duties and responsibilities of the post include managing, extracting, analysing, and documenting data from databases or raw datasets. In addition, the candidate is required to write reports and present and publish results and findings in peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, he/she will need to contribute to the development and writing of research grant proposals.

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and lead analyses of proteomic and clinical datasets related to cardiovascular disease
• Develop advanced statistical models and innovative methodological approaches for heart failure research.
• Lead the writing of high-impact scientific manuscripts focused on heart failure and cardiovascular epidemiology.
• Spearhead developing and writing research grant proposals to secure funding for ongoing and future projects.
• Provide mentorship to junior researchers and research associates on analytical approaches and scientific writing.
• Lead collaborations with diverse experts, including epidemiologists, data scientists, and clinicians
• Contribute to strategic planning for the research group's research initiatives

 

Minimum Qualifications
• PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Data Science, or related field
• Minimum 1-2 years of post-doctoral research experience in cardiovascular research or related field
• Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R preferred, Stata, or Python)
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing complex proteomic and clinical datasets
• Strong publication record with first-author papers in cardiovascular epidemiology or related fields
• Proven experience in grant writing and securing research funding
• Excellence in scientific writing and manuscript preparation
• Ability to work independently while effectively leading collaborative research initiatives
• Strong project management skills with ability to meet research objectives and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications
• Specialized knowledge in heart failure research
• Experience with proteomic data analysis
• Experience mentoring junior researchers
• Evidence of methodological innovation in epidemiological research
