Job Description
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one (1) Research Fellow position in the area of Coastal Engineering. The candidate is expected to work in investigating multi-phase hydrodynamic interactions, and turbulence modelling with Large Eddy Simulations involving engineering applications in both atmospheric and coastal water environments.
The scope can also include:
• Investigating turbulence dynamics and coherent flow structures induced by extensive marine infrastructure coverage.
• Experimental measurements and corresponding numerical simulations using advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technique of Large Eddy Simulations.
• Assessment of structural stability and environmental impacts associated with coastal protection measures.
• Develop custom software for data integration and visualization of simulation outputs.
• Conduct field experiments in the coastal environment to collect good quality data.
Job Requirements
Applicants should have a PhD in Civil Engineering or related field.
Preferably with a few years of relevant experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling with Large Eddy Simulations involving engineering applications in both atmospheric and coastal water environments.
Strong written and spoken communication skills.
Open to fixed-term contract.
