Job Description

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one (1) Research Fellow position in coastal engineering and flood management research. The candidate is expected to work in investigating data-driven and numerical modelling for coastal protection and flood risk prevention. 

Other responsibilities can include:

•    Develop and establish hydrologic models for a coastal area.
•    Assessment of flood risk within a coastal environment.
•    Conduct field experiments in the coastal environment to collect good quality data.
•    Develop custom software for data integration and visualization of simulation outputs.
•    Summarize research findings in high-quality research presentation and reports.

Qualifications

•    Possess a PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related disciplines.
•    Strong interest in research work, numerical modelling, and field surveys.
•    Experience in hydrologic modelling and near real-time monitoring systems.
•    Proficient in programming with Python and MATLAB.
•    Strong written and spoken communication skills.
•    Open to a fixed-term contract.
